1912 Gold Sovereign London

The 1912 Gold Sovereign - London Mint

Benedetto Pistrucci’s famous portrayal of St George slaying the dragon is on the reverse of the coin.

It was another year of a very large mintage, well over 30 million.

King George V’s portrait can be seen on the obverse of the coin, designed by Bertram MacKennal.
