 Each coin shows images representing the country capital city LondonThe reverse shows the Coat of arms of the City of London, representing England, and below official badges of the capital cities of the United Kingdom. The design is by Stuart Devlin.The Obverse is the portrait of Queen Elizabeth II by Ian Rank-Broadley. The edge inscription is DOMINE DIRIGE NOS which means 'Lord, guide us'. BelfastThe reverse shows the Coat of arms of Belfast, representing Northern Ireland, and below official badges of the capital cities of the United Kingdom. The design is by Stuart Devlin.The Obverse is the portrait of Queen Elizabeth II by Ian Rank-Broadley. The edge inscription is PRO TANTO QUID RETRIBUAMUS which means 'For so much, what shall we give in return?'. CardiffThe reverse shows the Coat of arms of Cardiff, representing Wales, and below official badges of the capital cities of the United Kingdom. The design is by Stuart Devlin.The Obverse is the portrait of Queen Elizabeth II by Ian Rank-Broadley. The edge inscription is Y DDRAIG GOCH DDYRY CYCHWYN which means 'The red dragon will give the lead'. Each gold proof one pound piece weighs 19.61 grams, and is made of 22 carat gold (0.916 fine).
