UK - The Gold LunarThe Shengxiào Collection, named after the Chinese zodiac, was started by the Royal Mint in 2014. Each year a Lunar animal of the Chinese zodiac representing that year is shown.
For example: if you were born in 1924, 1936, 1948, 1960, 1972, 1984, 1996, 2008 then you are in the Year of the Rat. The Rat is on the 2020 coin shown and we refer to this coin as Gold Lunar Year of the Rat 2020. And so forth for others.
The number eight is believed to be lucky in Chinese culture, so each mintage is limited to 8,888.
