The 2025 Premium Silver Sovereign ProofThe Royal Mint has produced the 2025 Silver Sovereign in two varieties: a standard silver proof sovereign, and this Premium Silver Sovereign Proof which features a privy mark to celebrate the 200th anniversary of Jean Baptiste Merlen’s Royal Arms design.
The coin has a diameter of 22.05mm and weighs 7.99g. Same design as the gold sovereign, but in 999 silver. The 2025 Premium Silver Sovereign Proof has a Limited Edition minting of 15,000.
The standard 2025 Silver Sovereign Proof is the same coin without the privy mark.
The Reverse of the 2025 Premium Silver Sovereign Proof is what you may expect of a silver coin that emulates a gold counterpart. The reverse image is Benedetto Pistrucci’s classic St George and the dragon. To the right of the date are the engravers initial, 'B.P.'. Privy mark to left of date.The edge is milled.
The Obverse is the portrait of King Charles III by Martin Jennings (initials 'MJ' below neck). Legend "CHARLES III DEI GRA REX FID DEF".Maximum mintage is 15,010.
