The 54AD-68AD Sestertius - Nero AE (bronze, brass or copper) Sestertius of Emperor Nero, struck between 54AD and 68AD at the Rome mint. The reverse is ROMA, a female deity who personified the city of Rome and the Roman Empire.
The Obverse shows the laureate head of Nero facing right. Legend is "IMP NERO CLAVD CAESAR AVG GER P M TR P P P".
The Reverse shows Roma facing left, seated on a cuirass (armour, a breastplate and backplate joined together), right foot next to a helmet, holding Victory and parazonium (a long triangular dagger), shields to right. ROMA in exergue. "S C" across fields; SC means senatus consultum, or 'by decree of the Senate' so the coin was an official issue.This coin graded as Good VF.
