The 2025 Zog 50p Silver ProofTo celebrate 15 years of the children's character Zog, the Royal Mint produced a series of 50p coins, plus a gold coin. Zog is children's picture book released in 2010 about a young accident-prone dragon. The book was written by former Children's Laureate Julia Donaldson and illustrated by Axel Scheffler, the same team who created the Gruffalo.
The coin is available as BU 50p, BU Colour 50p (Limited Edition 10,000), Silver Proof Colour 50p (LE 3,500) and in a 1/40th ounce gold coin (LE 1,000). Coin shown is the 2025 Zog 50p Silver Proof.
The Reverse, by Axel Scheffler & Magic Light Pictures, shows the young dragon Zog.
