The 2025 HMS Belfast £2 Silver Proof - Charles IIIThis coin pay tribute to one of the Royal Navy's most famous warships, HMS Belfast.
HMS Belfast was launched in 1938 after being built by Harland and Wolff shipyard in Belfast. The ship served in many campaigns, including the Arctic (1943), North Cape (1943), Normandy (1944) and Korea (1950–52). Belfast was Decommissioned in 1963 and is now a museum ship on the River Thames in London, operated by the Imperial War Museum.
The Reverse, by Gary Breeze, show the HMS Belfast moving through the water. Text is simple "HMS Belfast".
The edge is inscribed with the motto of HMS Belfast: "PRO TANTO QVID RETRIBVAMVS" meaning "For so much, how shall we repay?".
The Obverse shows a bare head portrait of King Charles III by Martin Jennings. Legend is "CHARLES III D G REX F D 2 POUNDS 2024".The coin is available as BU, Silver Proof, Silver Proof Piedfort and Gold Proof.
