The 2025 Greyhound of Richmond 1oz Silver Proof £2 - Royal Tudor Beasts - Charles IIIThe Greyhound of Richmond is the eighth coin to be released in the Royal Tudor Beasts series. Limited Edition 2,500 (Maximum mintage 2,760).
The Royal Tudor Beasts from the Royal Mint commemorate the ten heraldic beasts that line the Moat Bridge of Hampton Court Palace.
Created at the request of King Henry VIII, the 10 beasts are: The Seymour Panther, the Lion of England, the Bull of Clarence, the Tudor Dragon, the Greyhound of Richmond, the Royal Dragon, the Yale of Beaufort, the Seymour Unicorn, the Queen’s Panther and the Queen’s Lion.
The Reverse, by David Lawrence, shows the Greyhound of Richmond and is surrounded by the simple legend "GREYHOUND OF RICHMOND 2025".
Edge is inscribed "HAMPTON COURT PALACE ? ROYAL TUDOR BEASTS".
The Obverse shows a portrait of King Charles III by Martin Jennings. Artists initials 'MJ' just below neck. Legend "CHARLES III D G REX F D 2 POUNDS 2025".The series is available as a £5 coin and a variety of silver and gold weights.
