The 2024 Two Pound - Bond Films of the 1980s 1oz Silver Proof - Six Decades of 007 - Charles IIIThis is a one ounce 999 fine silver proof coin, denominated £2 and is the third coin in the 007 collection from the Royal Mint called "Six Decades of 007". It is "Bond Films of the 1980s".
The 1980's gave us Bond films featuring either Roger Moore or Timothy Dalton. They were For Your Eyes Only (1981, Roger Moore), Octopussy (1983), A View to a Kill (1985), The Living Daylights (1987, Timothy Dalton), License to Kill (1989).
The Six Decades of 007 collection is a series of seven coins, each celebrating a decade of James Bond 007 film. The coins are released as BU, silver, gold, denominated as £2, £5 and higher, plus bullion coins for investors. Coins released in 2023 and 2024.
The Reverse, by Matt Dent and Christian Davies, shows the Bede BD-5J 'Acrostar' plane from Octopussy, set on a background of micro text of the names of the 1980s Bond films. Below is the original 007 logo. The image sits inside a wide border that represent the rifling of a gun barrel.
The edge is milled.
The Obverse shows a bare head portrait of King Charles III by Martin Jennings.Maximum Coin Mintage is 4,007.
