The 2024 Buckingham Palace BU Five Pounds - Charles IIIBuckingham Palace is the official London residence of the Royal Family and one of Britain's most famous landmarks. It has 775 rooms.
Built in 1703 for the Duke of Buckingham it was originally called Buckingham House. It was acquired by King George III in 1771 for his wife Queen Charlotte. It was further extended and has been the official residence of the Royal Family since Queen Victoria in 1837.
The Royal Mint brought out a series of coins to commemorate Buckingham Palace. They include £5 in BU and in silver, a silver proof piedfort £5, a 1/40th gold coin, and a £5 gold proof.
The Reverse has been designed by artist Henry Gray and show the magnificent frontage of Buckingham Palace.
Edge is milled.
