The 2024 Bond Films of the 1990s £5 BU - Six Decades of 007 - Charles III

The fourth coin in the 007 collection from the Royal Mint called "Six Decades of 007" is "Bond Films of the 1990s". This is the BU Five Pound (£5) coin showing Q-Branch’s speedboat from the opening of The World Is Not Enough.

The 1990's gave us three Bond films, all staring Pierce Brosnan. They were GoldenEye (1995), Tomorrow Never Dies (1997), and The World Is Not Enough (1999).

The Six Decades of 007 collection is a series of seven coins, each celebrating a decade of James Bond 007 film. The coins are released as BU, silver, gold, denominated as £2, £5 and higher, plus bullion coins for investors. Coins released in 2023 and 2024.

The Reverse, by Matt Dent and Christian Davies, shows Q-Branch’s speedboat from the opening of The World Is Not Enough, set on a background of micro text of the names of the 1990s Bond films. Below is the original 007 logo. The image sits inside a wide border that represents the rifling of a gun barrel.

The edge is milled.

The Obverse shows a bare head portrait of King Charles III by Martin Jennings. Legend is "CHARLES III D G REX F D 5 POUNDS 2024".
