The 2023-W Silver Eagle Proof - West PointOne-Troy ounce 99.9% Silver Eagle dollar coin. This continues the new design of an eagle landing on a nest. The 2023W Silver Eagle Proof is minted at the West Point Mint and carries a 'W' mint mark to the right of the eagle. Diameter is 1.598 inches (40.60 mm).
2023 Silver Eagle Proofs are minted at both West Point and San Francisco branches of the US Mint. West Point also produces bullion Silver Eagles.
The Reverse shows a bald eagle landing on a branch. Text on the reverse includes "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA", "E PLURIBUS UNUM", "1 OZ. FINE SILVER" and "ONE DOLLAR".
Edge is reeded (milled).
The Obverse design is based on the Walking Liberty Half-Dollar (1916-1947) by Adolph A. Weinman; his initials are just below the 'WE TRUST'. Text on the obverse includes "LIBERTY", "IN GOD WE TRUST" and the year "2023".Image credit: United States Mint
