The Reverse, by John Mercanti, the twelfth Chief Engraver of the United States Mint, shows the American Eagle with the British Lion behind. Legend is "THE LION AND THE EAGLE", with the date "2023" below. The designer's initials "JM" are on the right.

The Edge is milled.

Coin shown is the 1oz Gold Proof, denominated as £100. Diameter 32.69mm, weight 31.21g.

The Obverse shows a bare head portrait of King Charles III by Martin Jennings. Legend is "CHARLES III D G REX F D 100 POUNDS 2023." (Charles III, by the grace of God King, defender of the faiths).

Maximum mintage is 385.
