The 2023 Gold Fifty Pence Windrush Generation22 carat Gold 50p coin minted to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the Windrush Generation. It is a tribute to the many British Caribbean and Commonwealth citizens who arrived in the UK between 1948 and 1973, initially on ship HMT Empire Windrush in 1948.
The Reverse, by Valda Jackson, shows two people of the Windrush generation standing with a Union Jack, in the background to the left are the numbers "75".
Available in BU, Colour BU, Silver Proof, Silver Proof Piedfort and Gold Proof. Released 19 June 2023. These coins are available (subject to stock) from the Royal Mint Shop.
Limited Edition Mintage is just 75 coins. Maximum mintage (with sets) is 285.
