The 2023 1oz Gold Bullion £100 - King ArthurThe Royal Mint's 2023 Myths and Legends series kicks off with King Arthur. The Arthurian series will continue with Merlin and Morgan le Fay. Gold one ounce bullion, denominated as £100, they have a diameter 32.69mm.
King Arthur (Arthur Pendragon) was the legendary leader of the Celtic Britons in battles against Saxon invaders of Britain in the late 5th and early 6th centuries. It was actually 300 years later that it Arthur was first found in print. Born ar Tintagel Castle and married to Queen Guinevere, Arthur lived at the fabled Camelot Castle together with his Knights of the Round Table (such as Sir Lancelot and Gawain). King Arthur owned Excalibur, a sword deemed to have magical powers.
These are one Troy Ounce 999.9 Fine Gold bullion coins (shipping from 25th October 2022). The series is also available in silver.
