The 2022 Two Pounds - Vera LynnThis coin celebrates the life of Dame Vera Lynn (1917-2020). Vera was a singer, known as the "Forces Sweetheart" for her work during the Second World War. Probably her most famous song was "We'll Meet Again". She died in 2020, aged 103.
The £2 coin is released as Unc, Silver Proof, Silver Proof Piedfort, 5oz Silver and £2 Gold coin. The coin shown is the Silver Proof. Diameter 28.40mm.
The Silver version has Inner: .925 sterling silver. Outer: .925 sterling silver plated with fine gold. The BU version has Inner: Cupro-nickel. Outer:Nickel-brass. The Gold coin has Inner: 22 carat yellow gold. Outer: 22 carat red gold.
The Reverse, designed by The Royal Mint Coin Design Team, shows a portrait of Dame Vera with the legend "DAME VERA LYNN" and the dates 1917-2020.
The milled Edge is inscribed: "WE’LL MEET AGAIN".
The Obverse shows a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II by Jody Clark.The coin ship date is early April 2022. These coins are available (subject to stock) from the Royal Mint Shop
