The 2022 Gold Proof 50p Coin - 50 Years of PrideA Gold 50p piece to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the first Pride UK event which took place in London on 1 July 1972. The coin is a UK first for the LGBTQ+ community.
This gold proof coin is 22 carat gold (916.67 Fine Gold), proof finish. Diameter 27.3mm and weighs 15.5g.
The coin is released as Uncirculated, Uncirculated Coloured, Silver Proof, Silver Proof Piedfort, and Gold Proof.
The Reverse has been designed by Dominique Holmes and represents Pride's legacy of protest, visibility, unity and equality. The coloured coins accentuates the rainbow pattern of the Pride logo.
The Obverse shows a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II by Jody Clark.Limited Edition mintage is 200, with a maximum mintage of 260.
