The 2021 Five Pound Coin - Prince Philip, Duke of EdinburghThe £5 coin is to celebrate the life of His Royal highness Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh.
Phillip was born as Prince Philip of Greece and Denmark on 10 June 1921. He married Elizabeth (later Queen Elizabeth II) in 1947. Prince Philip died on 9 April 2021, aged 99.
Coins are available in CuproNickel BU, Silver, Silver Piedfort, Silver 1kg and a range of gold coins. All except BU have limited edition minatges. These coins are available (subject to stock) from the Royal Mint Shop (product code is UK21PMBU for BU, UK21PMSP for Silver 1oz).
The Reverse, by Ian Rank-Broadley, shows a portrait of Prince Philip and text, including "DUKE OF EDINBURGH 1921-2021".
