The 2021 Five Pound Coin - Lunar Year of the Ox BUThe Shengxiào Collection, named after the Chinese zodiac, was started by the Royal Mint in 2014. Each year a Lunar animal of the Chinese zodiac representing that year is shown.
2021 is the Year of the Ox. You are year of the Ox if you were born in 1901, 1913, 1925, 1937, 1949, 1961, 1973, 1985, 1997, 2009 or 2021
The edge is milled.
The Reverse, by Harry Brockway, shows an Ox grazing in a field.
The Obverse shows a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II by Jody Clark. Besides the BU coin, the same design is available in silver 1oz proof, silver 5oz, silver 1kg, gold 1kg, gold 1oz and gold 1/4oz. The BU coin was originally housed in a fold-out wallet.
