The second coin in the Royal Mint "Music Legends" collection features Sir Elton John. Elton has been a star since 1967 and over that time has become one of the biggest selling music artists of all time with over 300 million records.
Born as Reginald Kenneth Dwight in 1947, Elton has won numerous awards and was knighted in 1998.
The reverse of the five-pound coin shows an inventive motif by Norwich born artist Bradley Morgan Johnson, featuring the iconic glasses, bow tie and boater hat that is typically Elton John.
The Obverse is a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II by Jody Clark.The coin is also available in silver and Cupronickel, in a number of different packages.
