The 2020 William Wordsworth £5William Wordsworth (1770-1850) is one of England's most famous poets. He helped start the Romantic Age with poems such as 'I Wandered Lonely as a Cloud' and 'The Prelude'.
This coin commemorates the 250th anniversary of his birth and celebrates his life and works.
The Reverse, by David Lawrence, shows a scenic view, the type of which inspired Wordsworth for his poetry, with the words 'Nature never did betray the heart that loved her'.
The Obverse shows a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II by Jody Clark.Besides the BU coins there are also a £5 Silver Proof Coin and a £5 Gold Proof Coin. The silver and gold coins have an Edge Inscription: 'I WANDERED LONELY AS A CLOUD'.
