The 2019 Five Pound Coin - Queen Victoria This Crown was issued to commemorate the 200th year of the birth of Queen Victoria.
The Reverse, by John Bergdahl, shows images of various aspects of the Victorian era, including an interpretation of the classic 'young head' portrait of Queen Victoria originally by WIlliam Wyon.
The edge is inscribed 'WORKSHOP OF THE WORLD' which was a phrase give to Great Britain when it was at its peak of manufacturing output following the Industrial Revolution.
The Obverse shows a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II by Jody Clark.The coins was also released as Silver (Limited edition 5,000 with a maximum mintage of 7,500). Silver Piedfort (LE 1,500) and also in gold (see 2019 Gold 5 Pound Coin - Queen Victoria 200th Anniversary).
