The 2019 Crown - Centenary of Remembrance This coin was issued to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the 1919 Remembrance day.
The Reverse, by Harry Brockway, shows a colourised poppy with the dates 1919-2019. The technique used to create this is called Pad Printing.
There are several variants of this coin:
- A BU version in pull-out card.
- A Silver Proof Coin, limited to 3,240.
- A Silver Proof Coin is also available in a fold-out card and a handstamped cover with a Centenary of Remembrance postmark dated 9 September 2019 (the coin's issue date), with special WWI postage stamps from 2014-2018. Issue limited to 750.
- A Silver Proof Piedfort limited to 775.
- A Gold Proof Coin limited to 240.
The Obverse shows a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II by Jody Clark.Some of the money (2.5%) from the sale of these coins was donated to the Imperial War Museums.
