The 2019 10 Pence Coin - Z - Zebra CrossingThe 'Z' coin in the Quintessentially British A-Z 10p Coins collection is the Zebra Crossing. The black and white marking give the pedistrian crossing point its name and were introduced in 1949.
The Belisha beacon (named after MP Leslie Hore-Belisha) which is the amber flashing globe on top of a black and white pole was actually introduced first in 1934.
The Reverse shows the letter Z and a road with the black and white stripes of a Zebra crossing. The reverse was designed by the The Royal Mint Team.
The coin is legal tender and is made from Nickel Plated Steel. The diameter is 24.50mm and weighs 6.50g. (The .925 Sterling Silver proof version weighs the same).
