The 2019 10 Pence Coin - R - RobinThe 'R' coin in the Quintessentially British A-Z 10p Coins collection is the Robin. A Robin, or Robin Redbreast (latin: Erithacus rubecula), is a small bird easily recognised by its red breast. Very common around Britain and although often associated with Christmas and Winter, the robin can be seen all year round.
The Reverse shows the letter R and a robin with snowflakes around. The reverse was designed by the The Royal Mint Team.
The coin is legal tender and is made from Nickel Plated Steel. The diameter is 24.50mm and weighs 6.50g. (The .925 Sterling Silver proof version weighs the same).
The Obverse shows a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II by Jody Clark.Images used by permission of The Royal Mint.
