The 2018 50 Pence Coin - Representation of the People ActCommemorating the 100th Anniversary of the Representation of the People Act of 1918. The Representation of the People Act was aimed to give more equality in voting and gave the right to all men over 21 (or over 19 if served in the armed forces) and any woman over 30 ('of property').
Women would have to wait until 1928 before they got full equality with men, but it was still a big victory for the suffragette movement.
The Reverse, designed by Stephen Taylor, shows a crowd of voters representing the change in suffrage (which is the right to vote in political elections) triggered by the law.
The Obverse if a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II by Jody Clarke. The coin is also available as a Silver Proof Piedfort coin.
