The 2017 1oz Silver Coin - Big BenThis is a one ounce silver bullion coin from the Royal Mint's Landmarks of Britain collection. This is a Britannia-style coin, diameter 38.61mm and 999 fine silver. Denominated £2 and is legal tender in the UK.
Intended as a bullion coin, many of these were sold outside the UK but they do find their way back. The coin is also available as a Silver Proof and a Silver Proof Frosted Reverse. SCBC: RMB12
The Reverse was designed by Glyn Davies and Laura Clancy and depicts a view of the Elizabeth Tower, better known Big Ben (which is actually the name of the bell that is housed in the tower), and one of the great icons of London sited next to the Houses of Parliament.
