Lady Bird Johnson was born Claudia Alta Taylor in Karnack, Texas on December 22, 1912. Mrs Johnson was well educated and successful as an investor and a manager. She was an advocate of making America beautiful. The Highway Beautification Act was informally known as "Lady Bird's Bill". She died on July 11, 2007, aged 94.
