The reverse, designed by David Gentleman, shows the date "1807" with the "0" depicted as a part of a broken chain link, surrounded by the inscription "AN ACT FOR THE ABOLITION OF THE SLAVE TRADE" and the date "2007".
Edge is milled and has the inscription is "AM I NOT A MAN AND A BROTHER".

The obverse is the Ian Rank-Broadley portrait of Queen Elizabeth II.
