The 1992-1993 50 Pence Coin - Single Market/Presidency of the EC CouncilCupro-Nickel Fifty Pence coin, dual dated 1992 and 1993, it was to celebrate the Presidency of the Council of European Community Ministers and the completion of the single market. This was the forerunner of the current EU.
The Reverse, by Mary Milner Dickens, shows 12 chairs around a table linked with lines and stars. The top chair has the letters 'UK' on it. Value '50 PENCE' shown below.
The mintage for this coin was quite low. The coin was also released as BU, Silver Proof, Silver Proof Piedfort and Gold Proof.
The Obverse shows a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II by Arnold Machin.
