The Obverse shows a portrait of King George VI by Humphrey Paget. Legend is "GEORGIVS VI D G BR OMN REX F D IND IMP" (George VI, By the Grace of God King of all Britons, Defender of the Faith, Emperor of India).
Edge is plain.
The Reverse, by Leonard Charles Wyon, shows the seated figure of Britannia, with a trident in her left hand and holding a shield at her side with her right hand.
