The 1935 Crown - Jubilee Crown - George VThis .500 Silver Crown was released to commemorate George V's 25th year on the throne, his Silver Jubilee. SCBC: 4048.
The Reverse design is known as the "Rocking Horse" design and was only used in this year. It was designed by Percy Metcalfe (initials 'PM' on lower right under the dragon's tail).
The standard Crown is not particularly expensive (often well less than £50) but there are a number of coins with a error edge inscription which fetch a very good price.
The Obverse is a bare head of George V by Bertram MacKennal (BM).
The edge is inscribed "DECUS ET TUTAMEN ANNO REGNI XXV" (An ornament and a safeguard 25 years of reign). There were also 28 Gold Proof versions struck.
