A small ‘M’ just below the Queen’s portrait indicates the sovereign was produced in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia.
Queen Victoria’s young head can be seen on the obverse of the coin. Designed by William Wyon RA, you can see the initials 'WW' on the truncation of the neck.
