The 1562 Sixpence - Elizabeth I (SCBC 2595)Elizabeth I milled silver Sixpence. Minted in 1562 (mint mark is a star). Minted at the Tower Mint, London. SCBC 2595.
Obverse is the crowned and mantled ornate tall bust facing left. Rose to the right.
Reverse is a Coat-of-arms over long cross fourchée.
Compare with the SCBC 2597 sixpence of the same year. Very similar in design but this SCBC 2595 has a more decorated dress and the end points of the cross are different.
