The Obverse shows the laureate and draped bust of Trajan facing right. Legend is "IMP CAES NER TRAIANO OPTIMO AVG GER DAC P M TR P".
The Reverse shows Fortuna, the goddess of fortune and the personification of luck, seated with her feet on a stool holding the rudder of a ship with her right hand, cornucopia in her left hand.Legend is "SENATVS POPVLVSQVE ROMANVS" with "FORT RED"/"S C" as two lines in the exergue. SC means senatus consultum, or by 'decree of the Senate' so the coin was an official issue.
